Burning on a Sunday afternoon-

What's up? As you can see, I've been busy on my latest wood burning project. I'm taking a break right now.
It's going to be my favorite, I can tell. It's been hard, but I've worked on it every day and I'm finally at the stage that I call "fun-shading". The initial shading of this piece was hard and laborious because I was just getting all the black parts black, and that was a lot of fucking shading.
Now, the shading is the kind where I can add different levels of shade, and that gives the picture all kinds of realism.
I still have a long way to go, as you can see by the cat's blank expression. I haven't even gotten to the hair on the face, and that's done one hair at a time.
I'm saving the eyes for last because I'm gonna try something different with this one. I'm going to color the eyes they are in the original photo, which is a really deep gold. I have to get some oil-based colored pencils to do that. I can't wait until it's done, it's gonna look sweeeet!
Okay, break's over. I'm going back to work.

We've started a new year. We've started a new opportunity to be a better person. A happier person. It's no secret that I'm one of the worst bloggers around. Why? Because no one reads it. And that had been a difficult thing for me to handle for years. So I feel I don't need to try.  2018 was a bad year. No only because there's a new problem with the cunt in the White House every day, but with people in general. People have gotten more violent and uncaring. Freedom of Speech?

  It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. It’s been a while since I’ve done any type of writing. I don’t even have a website anymore. I wasn’t planning on writing anything, probably eve again, but lately, things have been changing.  The “Supreme” Court has been making very dangerous changes to the laws in our country. Particularly six of the judges. Six CONSERVATIVE judges, who are forcing us to go back to the 1950’s! Their latest stunt is allowing businesses to discriminate against LGBT+ people if they don’t want to serve them, because it’s against their religion. They’re claiming it falls under the First Amendment: freedom of speech.  Oh, yeah, we’ll, here’s some freedom of speech for you: Fuck them!!! Fuck all Republicans!!! Fuck Donald tRump and his illiterate cult. Finished another one

After an almost seven month break from writing, yesterday I finished another book. It is the first installment of a new new trilogy called My Leprechaun . The first book is titled The End of the Rainbow . I'm excited about this series, but I'm also filled with angst. Finishing a book and getting it ready to put out into the world and see what it does is usually an exciting time. There's always that chance that this book will be the one that puts my name on the map. In pure blog openness,  that's what I had hoped for when I released Reunion last October. It was my first ghost story, and I thought it would make a huge splash. But it didn't. I fought for months just to get a few reviews.  The excitement fizzled and faded. And something inside me turned off. That was the start of my break from writing.  I was sure I was done working so hard for nothing in return. But there was this story that I had wanted to tell for years. I had almost finished the first draft months
